2014 Trends Conference - Nov 6 & 7, 2014 - Update

The 2014 Conference Committee has been working to deliver to FSU one of the nation's best "club" style conferences. An outstanding line-up of featured speakers and guests is being confirmed. A capacity crowd, limited to 600, is again expected.

Conference Registration materials for the 2014 Real Estate Trends Conference will be mailed in late August with online registration opening at that time.

THURSDAY EVENING OPENING, Nov. 6, features Stephen Dubner, an award-winning author, journalist, and radio and TV personality. Dubner, along with the economist Steven D. Levitt, is well-known for writing Freakonomics (2005) and SuperFreakonomics (2009), which have sold more than 5 million copies in 35 languages. The Freakonomics enterprise includes an award-winning blog, a high-profile documentary film, and a public-radio project called Freakonomics Radio, which Dubner hosts.

FRIDAY MORNING, Nov. 7, plenary sessions include: “Strategies for Beyond Tomorrow,” a candid one-on-one discussion of market conditions, short- and long-term strategies and emerging opportunities with Ron Kravit, Head of Real Estate Investing, Managing Member of Cerberus Real Estate Capital Management, LLC and Senior Managing Director of Cerberus Capital Management, headquartered in New York.

"Real Talks: Ideas that Inform, Challenge, and Inspire," features talks by noted FSU professor, Anders Ericsson, widely regarded as the one of the world’s leading experimental researchers on “superior performance;” Jonathon Last, journalist and author of “What to Expect When No One’s Expecting;” and Dana Telsey, CEO and Chief Research Officer of the Telsey Advisory Group, a leading equity research and consulting firm focused on the consumer space.

Concurrent “Hot Topic” sessions discuss opportunities within the capital stack, private equity perspectives; investments that shape competitive cities; urban redevelopment opportunities; investment in the housing sector, e-commerce and bricks-and-mortar retailing; the outlook for gaming in Florida; and much more!!!
